As a registered Midwife and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, I bring years of experience supporting individuals and families impacted by mental health challenges. In today’s fast-paced world, the rise in stress-related illness is undeniable. With adult and children’s mental health services stretched thin, many are left seeking comfort and support through alternative means.​

​

Throughout my life I have faced my own emotional struggles and found healing in mindful hobbies like graphic design, adult colouring, and crochet—activities that offer quiet reflection and a gentle escape.​

​

My journey with positive affirmations began after surviving an abusive relationship that left deep emotional scars and a sense of low self-worth. I started writing quotes that resonated with me on sticky notes and placing them around the house. While simple, this practice became a lifeline—but keeping the notes in place was a challenge. I searched for affirmation products online, only to find options that felt too bright, too basic, or aimed at younger audiences.​

 

So I began to create my own.​

 

Using my graphic design skills, I crafted a colouring book filled with intricate pages—mandalas, flowers, butterflies—each paired with an inspirational quote or positive affirmation on the reverse. This fusion of creativity and mindfulness became the foundation of The Quote Shack.​

 

Today, The Quote Shack offers thoughtfully designed stationery and gifts that inspire calm, self-belief, and emotional wellness—rooted in sustainability and shaped by lived experience.​
